The Funny Noise

by Anani Schauermann

Soon it was time for Ann to go back to the house.  She was so cold.  In the house her mom had hot chocolate waiting.  'Yum, yum,'  said Ann.  Just then Ann heard a noise.  It was coming from outside.  At first Ann was scared because it sounded like a fire alarm.  But it was a snow machine.  When she looked out it was just her neighbor snow machining.

Wishing you a merry Christmas!

Which Is Better?

by Jeffrey Schauermann

     We do our school,
Lazy and slow,
     Getting nowhere,
School is our foe.

     Or do our school,
Faster than fast,
     Getting somewhere,
Our foe we cast.

Baby

by Jeffrey Schauermann

Babies crying like mad,
     Saying, "I am hungry."
Babies slurping like mad,
Saying, "Now I'm not sad. "
Babies snoring like mad,
     Whispering, "Time to sleep."

Ann In the Snow

by Anani Schauermann

One winter night Ann was with her mom watching a movie.  She had no clue that the night would bring snow.  When she got in bed she put some clothes on the floor so when she got up in the morning  she could dress quickly and go to school.  Meanwhile it was snowing outside.  In the morning the snow  was one foot deep.  Ann just woke up and got dressed.  "Burr it's cold," said Ann as she went downstairs.  Ann ate and then went outside to wait for the bus."It snowed,"said Ann.  That means I have no school.  She made a snowman and snow angel.

Rain

by Jeffrey Schauermann

Pitter pat, pitter pat,
The rain comes down, down, down.
Pitter pat, pitter pat,
     Umbrellas like a frown.
Pitter pat, pitter pat,
     Tapping on our one roof.
Pitter pat, pitter pat,
The rain is gone like poof.

A hat, nose and scarf,
     On the ground lay.

The Weather

 by Anani Schauermann

    The river is quick,
The sailing is good,
    The ground is slick,
And sing I could.

   The mills are spinning,
The fast wind is good,
   The trees are swirling,
And sing I would.

Jim's Thanksgiving

by Jeffrey Schauermann

It was almost Thanksgiving and Jim's family was buzzing around the store getting turkeys, pumpkins, cranberries, and pies. When they got home his mom went right to work baking the turkey and making pumpkin pie. All his sisters were helping mother so he was the only one to help dad decorate. When the girls were done they helped too. Pretty soon the house was ready for Thanksgiving.

The wind is strong,
But I am brave,
As a sharp prong,
In a dark cave,
The wind is strong.

The sirens are sounding,

The houses are crashing,
     Hurricane is thrashing,
Now the hurricane is gone,
And the people sing a song.

The Hungry Tree

by Jeffrey Schauermann

There once was a hungry tree. The tree would eat anything, but there was a problem. You see, there was nothing to eat! He was in the middle of a field. Well, one day, a little boy put a rope on one of his boughs and when the boy left he ate up the rope. Then a deer came and left its antlers. He also ate a chain, treehouse, pulley, and a swing.

Kane Part 2

Anani Schauermann

When Kane was done eating lunch she ran back upstairs.  when she got there, she ran to the drawer.  She got out the present she had been wrapping earlier.  Soon she was done wrapping the present for her mom.  Kane ran downstairs and put the present underneath the Christmas tree.  There were a bunch of other presents under the tree.

At dinner that night Kane was wondering what she would get in her stocking.  She was wondering what kind of presents she would get.  That night Kane snuck out of her bed and grabbed some paper to make some cards.  Kane made one for her mom, dad, brother and her baby brother.  She put a heart on each of the cards.

Jim Part 2

by Jeffrey Schauermann

It has now been a month since Jim finished school and it was about time for school to start again. Jim had moved up a grade and was going to a different room. Most all the kids were new to him though some of them were from his old class. When school began Jim felt a little bit lonely because he didn't know any of the kids, and his teacher was strange to him. Pretty soon, Jim thought, I will come to like my teacher and the other kids in this class, and that is what happened.

Kane Part 1

By Anani Schauermann

One winter day Kane was in the forest picking up acorns for an acorn pie.  When she got home her mom was waiting for her in the kitchen.  Kane's mom said the pie was for Christmas.  That night Kane was wondering what her mom was doing downstairs because it smelled like cookies.

Now it was the day before Christmas and Kane was upstairs wrapping a present for her mom."Kane" said her mom, "I would like you to eat with us".  So Kane quickly hid the present in her drawer and ran downstairs to the table.  When she got there her mom was there.  She asked her mom where the rest of the family was.  Her mom said they were in the garage.

Chickens

by Jeffrey Schauermann

Chickens are pecking,
And bugs are fleeting.
Some bugs fly away,
Others run away.

They search for one hour,
And they find nothing sour,
What they find is blunt,
They give up the hunt.

The Misplaced Pinguin

by Jeffrey Schauermann

One day a truck pulled up our driveway. The name on it was Animal Safari. We all began wondering what it was here for. The driver got out and wheeled a crate about four feet tall with lots of holes in it. He left it on our front porch and left. It was hard work getting the crate in the house. When we opened it a penguin waddled out so I took the penguin outside and tied it to a tree.

Now it's time to hoe.

The seed is cradled high,
Cradled in the sky,
Fallen to the ground,
Never to be found.

The thee grows tall,
And loses leaves in fall,
The snow makes big leaps,
And ends in big heaps.

It's time for spring,
And leaves turn green,
The boy has fun,
In the hot sun.
